ALONE IN THE CROWD

No matter ,howsoever hard we try to masquerade ourselves with the veil of good-heartiness and social behavior, all of us are loners at heart. The best comparison I can draw of , is between human beings and snails. Each of us has a shell of his own, into which we withdraw ourselves when dejected or distraught. In fact,we are like islands, each of which is marooned in itself.
These islands look flourishing and gay from above the surface but inside they consist of stale vegetation and slippery slopes. Each of us,has a closet in which we hide our woes. The only real contact is between islands of the same group(read family)beneath the surface.
I do not want to sound like another blogger venting his frustration on his readers, but give it a thought and you will find it to be true.
Recently,I got to see some of the Chris Angel magic tricks. They were just breathtaking, man.Hope to learn some of them in this lifetime.
Now,the present seemingly boiling situation in Jammu-Kashmir is drawing the flak from the government. As far as I can recall, there was a clause for a referendum in the initial draft of Partition of India. But surprises of surprises,it never took place.Don't you think that it tantamounts to a denial of a basic human right.Let there be a referendum and if the majority is for Indian rule, well and good.If not,you can not impose your will on a mass of people for long. There is got to be resentment on part of the inhabitants. This is not a far-fetched situation as my friends from that state confirm. They add that some of the terrorism in the state is borne out of this situation.Something needs to be done before the matter goes out of hand. But,the government has to be careful with this, because this can also add fuel to separatist sentiments in other parts of India.
The development of India at a neck-break speed in recent past has actually led to springing up of yet unforeseen problem of regional disparity .It is not as if,it was not prevalent earlier, but now the situation is much more grave in nature.Add to that, the eternal sin of quota system eating into the meritocracy, and gloom is even darker.Someone give these politicians some much desired wisdom.
